Dr. Layne Kamalu, M.D.
Medical Doctor
Dr. Kamalu was born in Honolulu, Hawaii. After spending his childhood and teen years in Hawaii, Arizona and Germany, he served an LDS mission to Munich, Germany and graduated from Brigham Young University in Mechanical Engineering. Dr. Kamalu attended medical school at St. Louis University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri. He completed a residency in Family Practice at Scott Medical Center, Scott AFB in Illinois. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Family Practice.

Cara Mellor, NP
Nurse Practitioner
Cara Mellor was born and raised in Northern Utah. She attended College at Weber State University where she graduated with her nursing degree in 2005. In 2007 she completed her NP (Nurse Practitioner) degree and started practicing in Ogden, Utah. In 2019 Cara Mellor joined Kaysville Clinic and sees patients part-time. She is married and has 2 daughters. She enjoys time with family, camping and hiking.

Abi McCloskey
Master Aesthetician
Se Habla Espanol
Meet Abi McCloskey, she grew up in Utah and attended Roy High. After serving an LDS mission in Mexico City, she earned her associate's degree at Weber State and received her license as a Master Aesthetician at the National Institute of Medical Aesthetics. She is married and has a little boy. Abi enjoys quality time with family, exploring new places, shopping and all things skin care.

Shannon Nielsen
Practice Manager
Shannon Nielsen has dedicated over 11 years to the medical profession, bringing a comprehensive understanding of patient care and clinic operations to her role. She began her career as a Medical Assistant, gaining hands-on expertise in clinical and administrative workflows, including phlebotomy and front-desk management. For the past five years, Shannon has served as the Practice Manager for Kaysville Clinic, where she oversees daily operations and ensures a high standard of service. Shannon holds a certificate in Medical Billing and Coding from Ensign College. Raised in a military family, she lived in various locations before permanently settling in Utah, which she has always considered home. She is deeply passionate about ensuring patients receive exceptional healthcare and feel truly seen and valued during their visits. Outside of the clinic, Shannon enjoys spending quality time with her husband, Ed, and their large, vibrant family, which includes 12 children, as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Kristi Martinsen
Patient Care Coordinator
Kristi Martinsen has been the welcoming face of Kaysville Clinic for over four years. Serving at the front line of patient care, she greets every visitor with a warm smile and is dedicated to helping patients seamlessly check in, review billing, and schedule appointments. Kristi holds a certificate in Medical Billing and Coding from Ensign College, bringing strong administrative expertise to her role. In addition to her core responsibilities, Kristi coordinates services for the clinic's master esthetician, who happens to be her daughter. Born and raised in Utah, Kristi loves spending time outside of work with her husband, Corey, their three children, and their three beautiful grandchildren.
